What Government Said About 6 Cheetah Deaths In 2 Months

The central government has denied any lapses behind the deaths of six cheetahs - including three cubs - within two months at the Kuno National Park (KNP) in Madhya Pradesh. "There is no lapse behind any of the cheetah deaths. Even in the case of the deaths of the three cheetah cubs, global wildlife literature clearly mentions 90% per cent infant mortality among cheetahs," said an official. "We haven't done any trials with any of the cheetahs trans-located to KNP from the two African nations. Cheetahs live in a coalition, so even the mating of a female cheetah with a male coalition wasn't done as any trial. It was done based on documented evidence and following clearance from African experts," said CP Goyal, director general of forests. A female cheetah had died during an aggressive interaction with two male cheetahs. Union Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav has said that officers and employees involved in cheetah conservation...

De Villiers Picks Favourite Player From IPL 2023. It's Not Kohli Or Gill

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season has seen some top performers emerge and make their mark in the game. The likes of Shubman Gill , Faf du Plessis , Virat Kohli , Yashasvi Jaiswal have been putting in batting spectacles this season. Though it's Gill who has shone the most among these players, with three centuries to his name, former Royal Challengers Bangalore star AB de Villiers snubbed both him and his former teammate Kohli as he picked his 'favourite player' from the 16th edition of the league. For De Villiers, it was the Rajasthan Royals' opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal who left the finest impression. In a chat on Jio Cinema, De Villiers doffed his hat to Jaiswal as he hailed the southpaw for his exemplary performances this year. "Yashasvi Jaiswal for me and by a long margin for sure. He is a young player and has got all the shots in the book. He has a calm and composed temperament at the wicket and I love what he does, dominating the bowlers and a...

The chief minister's office has also released Mr Gehlot's programme confirming his visit to Delhi, where he will also lay the foundation stone of the Rajasthan House. The proposed meeting comes close on the heels of Pilot's "ultimatum" that if three demands he made from the state government were not met by the end of this month, he would launch a state-wide agitation. Mr Pilot has asked for a high-level inquiry into the alleged scams that took place during the tenure of the former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje government, as one of his demands. BCCI Unlikely To Support Asia Cup Hybrid Model: Report

The BCCI will not support Najam Sethi's proposed hybrid model of hosting the Asia Cup wherein four preliminary round and two super four games will be held in Pakistan with India's matches and the final taking place in a neutral country. It is understood that the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chairman Jay Shah, who is also the secretary of the BCCI, during an informal discussion with some of the continental body's members in Ahmedabad has made the Indian board's stand clear. For a tournament to happen at a neutral venue, the all-powerful executive body of the ACC needs to take the final call, and therein lies the problem. "Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan have already told the PCB that they have no issues playing their games in Pakistan. But India is not keen on supporting the hybrid model. Now, the impasse hasn't been broken and the final decision will only be taken at ACC executive board meeting that Jay (Shah) will have to summon," an ACC board membe...

"He Talks Bad About...": Union Minister On Rahul Gandhi's US Visit

As Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is all set to visit the USA at the end of this month, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Saturday took a jibe at the former Wayanad MP saying he visits abroad 60-times in a year and every time "tears down" the country. "I usually don't comment on Rahul Gandhi because I scratch my head to try to understand why he is saying what he is saying. When PM Modi travels abroad, he speaks about our country's achievements and earns respect for India. This man (Rahul Gandhi) goes abroad 60 times a year. On every visit, he tears down India and our institutions. He talks bad about our democracy, about EVMs, the justice system, media, and everything," the Minister said. He further slammed the Congress leader and said that only Rahul Gandhi has a problem with Indian democracy. As per the sources, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who was scheduled to fly to the United States for 10 days on May 31 has rescheduled his tour and will now embark...

"Too Early": Kapil Dev On Gill's Comparison With Greats Of Indian Cricket

Former India captain Kapil Dev feels that Shubman Gill needs to perform consistently in two to three more IPL seasons to be included in the list of great players. Gill is in red-hot form in the ongoing IPL having already scored 851 runs at an average of 60 plus and a strike rate of over 150. While many cricket experts and analysts have started comparing the youngster with the likes of Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar , Kapil feels that it is too early to give that stature to Gill. " Sunil Gavaskar came, Sachin Tendulkar came, then Rahul Dravid , VVS Laxman , Virender Sehwag , Virat Kohli and now with the kind of batting he is showing, it appears that Shubman Gill is following their footsteps. But I will like to give him another season (before making big claims). He definitely has the talent and ability but he needs more maturity," Kapil said in an interaction with ABP News . "If he plays another season like this, there is no doubt that he too could be included in t...

Virender Sehwag Picks Top-5 Batters In IPL 2023. Kohli, Gill Not In List

Only one match remains in the Indian Premier Leagues (IPL) 2023. Over the last two months, the 10 franchises competed intensely with some doing it better than the other. The tournament also saw several great batting performances. This was the first time that two uncapped batters - Yashasvi Jaiswal and Prabhsimran Singh - scored centuries in one edition of the league. Also, India stars Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill his two ceneturies each. After such a great show, ahead of Gujarat Titans' Qualifier 2 against Mumbai Indians, Virender Sehwag picked the 'top-five batters' according to him. "Mere 5 Pandavas. Cricket's Pandav. My pick for five batters in the IPL. I have not picked many openers because they get a lot of opportunities. The first batter who comes to my mind in Rinku Singh . I don't think you would ask me the reason. Because it has never happened that a batter has won the team a match by hitting five straight sixes. Only Rinku Singh has done it. The...

Singh said that it would be "difficult" for her to attend any "personal meeting" with the services minister, unless "adequate safeguards and appropriate conduct" was ensured. An Indian national has been sentenced to 30 months in jail for allegedly making illegal payments of over SGD 5.1 million from a construction company where he worked to firms linked to him. Sixteen other charges, including those involving the remaining amount, were considered during sentencing, The Straits Times reported. He later told investigators that he had sent the money to India to help cover his parents' household expenses. Mohamed admitted that he had set up the firm solely to earn some cash from Utracon Corp. He was also the only one making all business decisions for Aret while his sister was the “face” of the firm, said the prosecution. This was because he knew that he could not be seen by Utracon to be involved in Al Rahman Enterprises & Trading (Aret) in which he was a par...

A group of 270 eminent citizens, including former bureaucrats, ambassadors and veterans, on Friday, condemned the Opposition for boycotting the new Parliament building inauguration and claimed the "family-first" parties have come together to boycott all that represents India. While it is a proud occasion for all Indians but opposition parties with their "skeletal arguments, immature, whimsy and hollow reasoning, and most of all flagrant display of non-democratic posturing, just don't get it", they said in a statement.
